SINGAPORE, 19 July 2022 - Asia’s leading streaming platform iQIYI has announced their intention to step up their game within the industry with the plan to release over 200 original Chinese productions within the next two years at their iJOY event earlier this year. Today, iQIYI reveals 33 headlining titles that will be part of this extensive slate of productions.
The newly announced titles cover a wide range of genres, and are classified under the categories of “Epic Tales”, “Young Power”, “Mystery Adventures”, “Oriental Fantasy” and “Differentiated Romance”. These titles will also feature quality production and a stellar cast to excite global audiences.

“Epic Tales” To Bring A New Golden Age of Chinese Entertainment
爱奇艺鄭重揭晓四部重磅制作剧集：《琅琊榜3》、《仙剑奇侠传4》、《山河之影》与《广州十三行》。其中，華語戲劇史上評價最高武侠IP續集《琅琊榜3》、《仙剑奇侠传4》即將回歸；而延續電影《绣春刀》主軸的武俠諜戰劇《山河之影》將如何重新詮釋「中國史上最惡官吏」明代錦衣衛題材，令广大影迷好奇不已。《广州十三行》则將鏡頭拉回18世紀清朝唯一開放中西貿易的港口，并由《长安十二时辰》导演曹盾執導筒，揭开此全球大航海時代經典地標的神秘面纱。
iQIYI will release four epic tale productions - Nirvana in Fire 3, Chinese Paladin 4, Pledge of Allegiance and Thirteen Hongs of Canton.
Among these include the latest instalment in the Nirvana in Fire series, the most popular franchise in Chinese drama history, as well as the return of the classic wuxia tale Chinese Paladin. Fans can also look forward to the long-awaited sequel to the 2014 period film Brotherhood of Blades in Pledge of Allegiance, revisiting the story surrounding the Ming Dynasty’s notorious Embroidered Uniform Guards, often described as the “cruelest secret police in Chinese history”.
The journey throughout history continues with Thirteen Hongs of Canton, which brings us to the Qing Dynasty in the 18th century, within the setting of the only trading zone between the West and China in that period. This series will be directed by The Longest Day In Chang’an director Cao Dun, shedding light on one of the key landmarks in the Great Age of Maritime Trade.

“Young Power” Captures The Passionate Hearts of Youth
在为人熟知的《青春有你》等Z世代綜藝节目以外，爱奇艺特别介绍描繪當代華人青少年面貌的「成長力量」剧集：《球狀閃電》、《我要逆风去》、《归路》与確認於7月22日全球上線的《天才基本法》。《球狀閃電》改编自《三體》作者劉慈欣的同名小說，是一部环绕少年陈光14岁生日之夜发生诡异事件的YA科幻剧集。《天才基本法》则是少女林朝夕（张子枫 饰）与父親老林（雷佳音 饰）和初戀裴之（张新成 饰）间追求真理与爱的故事。由龚俊、钟楚曦、吴宣仪主演的青年创业故事《我要逆风去》，以及井柏然与谭松韵主演的初恋故事《归路》，则细腻捕捉当代青少年的初心与热情。
iQIYI is known among many Generation Z fans for their variety originals such as Youth With You. The streamer continues to introduce more content targeted at teens and young adult audiences with its “Young Power” drama series, which aims to portray the faces and lives of modern Chinese youth.
Ball Lightning is adapted from a novel by popular author Liu Cixin, winner of the 2015 Hugo Award for his novel The Three-Body Problem. This YA science fiction series revolves around teenager Chen Guang, who comes upon mysterious encounters on the night of his 14th birthday.
The Heart of Genius is confirmed for a global release on July 22. The story follows teen girl Lin Zhaoxi (played by Zhang Zifeng) alongside her father Old Lin (played by Lei Jiayin) and first love Pei Zhi (played by Zhang Xincheng). This is a story of the pursuit of truth and love between the three main characters.
Feel inspired by the compelling story of youth entrepreneurship in Rising With The Wind, which stars Gong Jun, Zhong Chuxi and Wu Xuanyi, who is better known as a member of K-pop group WJSN and Chinese girl group Rocket Girls 101.
Last but not least, do not miss Road Home, a romance drama which captures the innocence and passion of first love in the days of youth, starring Jing Boran and Tan Songyun.

Following the successes of The Bad Kids and The Long Night, the winners of Best Creative and Best OTT Original at the 2021 Asia Content Awards, iQIYI continues to push out mystery and crime-oriented original series to satiate the thirst and curiosity of audiences, bringing in stellar casts to blow the mind.
Chasing the Undercurrent will pit two male heart-throbs Huang Jingyu (previously in My Dear Guardian) and Tony Yang (previously in Light the Night) against each other, while Detective Chinatown (the series) 2 brings back main lead Roy Chiu while welcoming an exciting brand new cast in Shang Yuxian, Kenny Bee, Cheryl Yang and Lynn Hung.
Checkmate is a Chinese adaptation of the iconic Hercule Poirot series from “the queen of crime” Agatha Christie. The series stars Hu Yitian and Zhang Yunlong, set in the backdrop of the “Eastern Moscow” Harbin, putting a brand new twist to the classic mystery novel series.
Lost In The Kunlun Mountains reunites the production team of The Golden Eyes, a 2019 series which clinched the Best Serial Drama award at the 14th Seoul International Drama Awards and the Best Director award at the 15th Chinese American Film Festival. This new series from the team will star Xu Kai, who is known for his previous roles in series like Story of Yanxi Palace and Falling Into Your Smile.
Finally, Spy Game will star ex-Super Junior M member Han Geng and popular actor Wei Daxun, who is most recently in iQIYI’s Dr. Tang.

在《赘婿》、《知否知否应是绿肥红瘦》等古装爆款之后，爱奇艺再推多部东方奇幻类型头部剧集。改编自同名漫画、杨幂搭配龚俊主演的《狐妖小红娘1》本日揭晓首组妖魅气息浓烈的艳红版海报；《七时吉祥》述说两个仙子因捣乱三界姻缘而被打入凡间的故事，而杨超越与丁禹兮的喜气古典婚照令人遐想无限。《请君》是个关于千年将军陆炎（任嘉伦 饰）和仗义女寨主于登登（李沁 饰）的奇幻穿越剧集；由Angelababy杨颖、马天宇主演的《尘缘》则描绘修练仙界学姊弟间的爱恨痴愁。《浮图缘》述说总掌太监肖铎（王鹤棣 饰）与福王（何润东 饰）策划宫变，却阴错阳差救了本应殉葬的才人步音楼（陈钰琪 饰）的曲折故事。由锺汉良所主演之《倾城亦清欢》将揭开“战神”九王爷与“凤女”清欢之间的虐恋传奇。
Audiences know iQIYI for its great offerings when it comes to period dramas and wuxia series, and this latest announcement is no different, with more exciting oriental fantasy series for fans to look forward to.
Lead actress Yang Mi joins actor Gong Jun on Fox Spirit Matchmaker 1, while Yang Chaoyue from Rocket Girls 101 and Ding Yuxi come together in Love You Seven Times, a story about two fairies who are banished to the mortal world after creating trouble for the fates across the three realms.
Thousand Years for You follows the thousand-year old general Lu Yan (played by Ren Jialun) and his fantastical encounters with the female tribal chief Yu Dengdeng (played by Li Qin). Audiences can also catch Angelababy alongside Ma Tianyu in Divine Destiny, a period piece which surrounds the love and challenges faced by two individuals learning the ways of the divine.
Forbidden Love is a romantic comedy period piece which features Dylan Wang as the head eunuch Xiao Feng who works alongside the Lord Fu (played by Peter Ho). The two plot a revolution within the palace, but end up accidentally saving Bu Yinlou (played by Chen Yuqi), the talented individual they were aiming to sabotage.
Headlined by Wallace Chung, Emperor’s Love depicts the sweet bitter symphony between the mysterious “God of War” and “Phoenix Girl” Qing Huan.

Over the next two years, the Asian streaming leader continues to push the boundaries and creative limits of Chinese romance drama with differentiated stories and themes.
Leading the slate is Lesson in Love, a forbidden love story between high school teacher and student starring Taiwanese actors Ann Hsu and Edward Chen, as well as Echo of Her Voice which stars THE9 member Kiki Xu and Miles Wei, a drama presented in a beautiful symphony revolving around ancient Chinese music.
Angelababy makes a return in another original series as the mysterious lady Lu Na who saves police officer A Lai (played by Wang Anyu) in Back For You. A Lai begins to notice that Lu Na possesses a comic script which seemingly predicts ongoing cases that occur around him.
More exciting romance series to look forward to include period mystery piece Warm on a Cold Night and Men In Love, which revolves around four men in their mid-30s and their changing attitudes towards love. Find out how a super customer service agent talked her way out of the toxic business and romantic relationship at Hello, I'm at Your Service. The Comic Bang, an adaptation of Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun, one of the highest rated manga receiving 8.7 score on MyAnimeList, will excite the romance and imagination senses of the audience.
